HUDSON-CATSKILL CENTRAL LABOR COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to any member, member's spouse, son, daughter, adopted or stepchild of a member who is in good standing with their local and complies with the proper documentation. Children of deceased members are also eligible.
The applicant MUST adhere to the following criteria:

Be a current high school senior and seeking to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school full time (12 or more credits).

Send the application materials by the deadline.

Include the following application materials in this order

Cover Letter

Official transcript of high school grades.

Current resume which includes current work experience and extracurricular activities.

Copy of college acceptance letter w/ proof of enrollment and estimated annual cost.

Letter of recommendation from high school principal, teacher, or guidance counselor.

Parents' complete names, occupations, and local name and number.

One of the most important elements of the selection criteria is the essay which should be a 200-400 word typed essay (Arial12 point font) on ONE of the following topics:

How have unions played a major role in your family? Describe any special moments in which your family benefited from involvement in a labor union.

Does the decline of union membership affect Workers' Rights?
-
Should New York State raise the minimum wage?
The deadline for submission is April 19.
