As of January first, Verizon New York no longer self-insures it Workers' Compensation claims. Claims are processed by Sedgwick Claims and the Workers' Compensation carrier is no other than AIG. That's right AIG!

Members that have an accident are being sent a packet of forms to be completed. CWA Local 1120 advises that all members contact an attorney before completing these forms. By signing some of these forms you may be giving up your rights. You may be giving Sedgwick Claims access to your medical records, you may have even given Verizon the authority to select your treating doctor. We advise calling 1-800-522-9001 and speak to a F.O.A. attorney.
