A few weeks ago we gathered together at the Ship Lantern Inn to celebrate Paula’s retirement. I want to take a moment to thank her for everything she has done for our Local. Paula’s commitment to CWA is an amazing example of what it means to be a Union member. In 1985 Paula played an instrumental role in the decision to have Vassar certify with CWA. She became the first Educational Unit Business Agent in July of 1986, and served in that role for 10 years. Paula then became the Secretary/Treasurer and worked in that position for an astonishing 18 years. Over her 28 years of service Paula worked on organizing, Election Committee Chair, Mobilization Committee, Defense Fund and many other projects. Her hard work and dedication has benefitted all of us over the years and it has been a great experience to work with her every day. I know we are all very thankful for her sacrifices and hard work, but on a personal note I am most thankful for our friendship.
So on behalf of the executive board, Staff and Members of CWA Local 1120 Thank You, and enjoy this next chapter of your life.
Frank J. Fauci Jr.
President CWA Local 1120
