We had a great day in Albany on April 24th, fighting to protect our jobs from deregulation and the corporate-controlled PSC.

Local 1120 showed up in force with 29 members, who attended the rally and informational session, and then marched over to the PSC to let our voices be heard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPzogS6xInA You may recognize yourself or our brothers and sisters in the videos. I have also attached a photo of the group (at least most of the group), EVP and some members, and the March over to the PSC. You may notice that we also had two great members from Vassar who attended.
1120 had the largest attendance rate of any local in the state, and had the most rank-and-file members of any local. After the rally, we met with 16 different legislators (Assembly and Senate), with constituents of each district. Local 1120 set the trend, having members and LPATs lead some of the legislative meetings. This deep and thorough involvement beyond just the leaders of each local is exactly what CWA has been seeking to achieve. You deserve strong praise for this.
And of course, the proof of our activity is beginning to pay dividends. Before arriving, we had various legislators who had signed on to cosponsor some of our legislation; but afterwards, we got 5 more cosponsors on our bills. We continue to follow up with them this week, and this proves that our activities are having a positive effect.
Thank you again to those who participated! We did a great job, but our work is not done. Please join in when asked; it is your job that you will protect
